NOTES: When we investigated Aledo 1882 Live we could find no legal records of this entity. The only online presence that we could find was a Facebook Page.
How were they able to SELL tickets for a legal entity that does not exist? It is our OPINION that The Remedy Room UNKOWNINGLY assisted them in the sale of the tickets. We believe this because they are a legal entity and 1882 Live is not.
After the event Mayor Nick Stanley posted on is Official Mayor Facebook Page:
Last night was incredible! We held the first concert for the new 1882 Live concert series in the City of Aledo and the turnout was awesome. This event was months in the making and there were so many that contributed to its success. Big thanks to all of our sponsors, the 1882 Live team, and all those who attended.
We noticed a comment that asked for his official position on this? Was this a City of Aledo sponsored event or a private event?
Reasonable question as it is appearing on his official page and he tagged the City of Aledo.
He did not respond.
We now know of his connection with 1882 Partners, LP and it seems logical that there is a connection with 1882 Live.
Our THEORY, we know his connection with the 1882 crew, we know that he (and Aledo City Council) approved giving the 1882 crew $25,000 to move the historic train depot to property owned by the 1882 crew. In our opinion, this event was a market test to see how the community would respond. It seems that this will be a new business venture for the Mayor and his business associates.
Mayor Nick Stanley is also the President of the Aledo Economic Development (EDC) with control of a almost 2.4 million FY2024 budget (more than double in the history of Aledo).
Will we see EDC money given to the 1882 crew? In our opinion, YES.
